  • FCS treatment can benefit a wide range of people and conditions. Anyone who has pain, suffered an injury, or who has symptoms of chronic inflammation would benefit from FCS treatment, even if the injury is decades old. Currently 35% of Americans suffer from systemic inflammation and 60% of Americans have a chronic condition related to inflammation and can be a major factor in acute injury (sprains/strains, post-operative, post-replacement, car accidents, etc) and chronic pain (fibromyalgia, post-concussion, migraines, anxiety, depression, PTSD, residual pain from old injuries/fractures).

  • Treatment is performed over the clothes using a combination of gentle tissue glides and assisted movement of the body into positions of ease and comfort. It is gentle and pain-free, suitable for all populations. There is typically a physical assessment that includes spinal/joint range of motion testing.

  • Please wear comfortable, loose fitting clothes (no jeans or other thick clothing). If possible, leave a little extra time before and after to avoid the stress of rushing in or out.

  • After treatments it is normal to feel significant relaxation and enhanced wellbeing in addition to pain relief. Treatment has  initiated a fascial unwinding process that takes 48-72 hours to complete, so you may notice some continued change over the next couple days.

  • Avoid strenuous exercise or activities for 24 hours post-treatment to give the nervous system a chance to integrate changes. Drink plenty of water. A short nap can be productive if you have the opportunity, and prioritize a good night’s sleep that night.

  • No, treatment shouldn’t hurt. The whole philosophy of FSC is to deliver more of what the body is asking for instead of forcing against resistance. We always manipulate and position tissue in the direction of ease.

  • Each session is one hour total. The initial session will include a detailed history and physical evaluation for the first half of the treatment time with hands-on treatment as time allows. Subsequent follow ups include at least 50 minutes of hands-on treatment.

  • This can vary greatly depending on the client and their needs.  It is generally best to space the first few sessions 7-10 days apart if possible. Most clients see significant progress within the first few visits, and, because FCS is useful for finding fascial dysfunctions before they manifest as pain, many will schedule regular maintenance sessions every 4-12 weeks after their primary concern has resolved.

  • Yes! There is plenty of free parking available.

  • Yes! After entering the building take a right into the first hallway you see. The elevator is on the right side about halfway down, head up to the 3rd floor. When exiting the elevator turn right and be sure to close the gate behind you, I am the first office on the right.

  • I’m located in the Barclay Park office buildings. If it is your first time visiting, please have a seat in the lounge and call or text 484.319.1344 and someone will show you to our office.

  • Fascia is connective tissue surrounding all of your body’s internal structures made up of collagen, elastin, and a collection of amino acids. It is everywhere inside you; there isn’t a blood vessel, organ, or cellular structure that is connected to, or surrounded by, fascia.

It functions as an important sensory organ and a significant player in proprioception, or our body’s ability to sense where it is in space and coordinate movement. It is embedded with specialized nerve cells called mechanoreceptors that monitor our interactions with our environment. When triggered, these receptors can engage the nervous system to contract or relax muscles and/or dilate constrict blood vessels.

Fascia surrounds all of our organs and everything including circulation, chemical signaling, and nerve impulses go through it. Thus, fascia plays a major role in things like hormonal signaling, pain signaling, and immune response. This is due to fascia’s direct connection with the autonomic nervous system, or the “automatic’ functions regulated without our conscious thought. This makes it very important to the function of our visceral system and plays a significant role in our feelings and emotions, and thus our psychological well-being.
