background

Archangel Therapy is a manual therapy practice owned and operated by Gabriel Skinner, LMT. We see clients in the Barclay Park Offices in the heart of West Chester, PA. Our primary technique is Fascial Counterstrain, a gentle application of fascial compressions to resolve trapped inflammation, pain, and dysfunction.

At Archangel Therapy, we care deeply for our clients and believe that hands-on therapy can be more than just treatment for pain. Our mission is to help our clients fulfill their human potential in all the various rolls they play in life by decreasing pain, improving function, and calming the sympathetic nervous system. We are aware that chronic pain, physical limitations, and the accompanying emotional stress can have a profound impact on how we show up for ourselves and the people around us. Our goal is to help individuals in our amazing West Chester community become the best pain-free versions of themselves.

Gabriel has been helping people out of pain and dysfunction for over 20 years since beginning his career in 2003. For 12 of those years he worked in sports medicine at Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation clinic in Washington, DC under Dr. Jeffrey Haggquist where his duties included Chief Therapist and course instructor. During this time he was introduced to a broad spectrum of advanced osteopathic techniques and learned how different manual treatment protocols worked under different diagnosis.  He would go on to open his own practice and widen his skillset to include movement patterning and strength & conditioning fundamentals as he helped his clients out of pain and into stronger, healthier lifestyles.

He encountered Fascial Counterstrain in 2019 and immediately started the coursework after witnessing its power to not only address the root causes of pain and dysfunction, but also to change lives. In 2023 he took a therapist position at Horizons Therapy in Waynesboro, VA under the mentorship of Christine Wood, DPT, instructor and one of the top Fascial Counterstrain therapists in the country. After several years of what amounts to intensive post-doctoral training in osteopathic manipulation, Gabriel brings his broad experience, this transformative technique, and a deeply caring spirit to the community of West Chester.
